Kiss Dry Hair Goodbye!
Whether you’re rockin’ an afro, bouncing ‘bout with braids on or wowing us with those wondrous weaves, deep conditioning is key to keeping your roots happy and hair healthy! African hair is known to be notoriously dry and craves for moisture. Don’t let dry and frizzy locks keep you from trying out on trend styles and making those mane goals. Deep conditioning, the right way and set in routine, is where great hair days begin.1. Detangling Is KEY
Detangling hair can be quite a task but it is easier for the moisture to penetrate when hair is knot-free. Use your fingers to gently rid your hair of the tangles. Use a wide-toothed comb once you’ve gotten rid of the stubborn ones.2. Wash with Water
One of the main contributors to dry hair is your shampoo. Yes, you read that right, your go-to shampoo! Skip the shampooing and notice the difference in your hair texture! Simply wash your hair with water instead, which is a natural moisturiser. It makes the hair softer and more elastic by penetrating into the shaft. Finger comb your wet hair during the process to aid the sebum to move along the lengths of your hair and retain its natural moisture.4. Deep Condition
Take a dollop of your deep conditioner and apply it along the lengths of your hair, concentrating on the mid-lengths and ends then rinse with cold water, after. We’ve tried using ProfectiV Mega Growth Anti-Breakage Strengthening Deep Conditioner and it works like a true miracle! Enriched with literally everything, this one product is all your hair will ever need. Argan Oil, Avocado, Olive Oil, Coconut, shea butter, Vitamin E – it’s got it all! We hear it also comes without any sulphates, parabens or alcohol that are damaging to the scalp and hair shaft. Pheww, finally one of the few hair products that come without! It not only moisturizes but also strengthens and repairs damaged hair through the process.5. Lock In The Moisture
Use an oil to lock in all the moisture. Oils are great for sealing all the moisture in and keep the hair looking hydrates. Apart from this, spritz your hair with water twice a day to double up on that moisture dose.Check out The Do’s and Don’ts of Deep Conditioning Hair Masks for some additional tips.
