Yes, it’s a no brainer! We all want long, strong, shiny hair that can also be easily managed. But as we battle our days with one too many hair problems and dealing with them with one too many products and remedies, we tend to forget the part that our daily hair routine and other factors like our diet play the health of our hair. We know the question on your mind girls – how to get long hair whilst preventing the biggest problem of them all – hairfall. Oh…*Group hug*We got your back. Read on to tackle this together.
There is nothing better than a hot oil massage as a starting point to best care for your hair. Using the oil as a catalyst, using the tips of your fingers in a circular motion really helps stimulate the scalp and get the blood circulating. A 10-15 minute massage followed by a 10-15 minute hot towel experience will really get the product to penetrate deep in the shaft as well as strengthen the roots. Massaging the scalp will also moisturize it and prevent the scalp skin from getting dry.
Remember the product you choose doesn’t always need to be a hair oil, you can use a deep conditioner or a strengthening scalp treatment as well. And boy have we tried them all until one of them gave us the results we’ve been looking for all the while. True to its name, Dr. Miracle’s Hot Gro Hair and Scalp Treatment proved to be a miracle indeed. The product protects the hair and scalp from environmental damage and also nourishes, hydrates and conditions the hair whilst at it. If you haven’t tried it yet, we think it’s time to treat yourself to a nice massage.
Okay, it’s important to keep your hair clean. But it’s more important to do it the right way! Some of the common mistakes we make are washing hair with hot water and applying the shampoo to the hair tips. These are two big NO’s, girl! You know better than that! Always make sure to use lukewarm water or normal water to rinse your hair. Hot water not only damages the scalp but could also burn your hair leaving it super dry and frizzed out. Also remember, a shampoo is meant for your scalp, so gently massage it on the scalp to cleanse and ride it of any product build up, dirt and grime. The shampoo needs to penetrate your scalp and make the roots stronger, which is why you have to ensure no harmful ingredients make up your shampoo of choice. This is the second step to prevent hair fall. Also do not forget, after you rinse out your shampoo, follow it up with a conditioner, applying it liberally to the mid lengths and ends of your hair. Never on the scalp!
Avoid shampooing your hair too frequently. Restrict it to once or twice a week. Rigorous washing or shampooing more often makes the hair shaft weak. Some ingredients in a shampoo can strip away your hair’s natural oil in the process of reducing the oiliness and removing the dirt, so it becomes important to not over use shampoo per wash. A coin sized amount it good enough for a whole head of head. You may also consider diluting it in water to help it spread evenly and lather well.
Styling tools use heat and that in turn damages your hair making it weak. Should you have to succumb to heat styling, make sure you use them with enough precautions. You can either chose to use lower heat settings or a cool setting for that matter and try to limit their use to once or twice a week. This will give your hair the time to recover between each session. While we will definitely recommend heat protecting products prior to any heat styling, we dare to mention another great innovation in damage repair that we seemed to have stumbled on off late. Allow us to introduce you to Dr. Miracle’s Temple and Nape Gro Balm. Having tested the product, we as excited to reveal (as you are to try it) that results were impressive! With so many benefits, here’s our cue to “go buy now!” to include as part of your hair care routine!
