Hair Care

Social distancing, while incredibly important, has put a limit on the number of things that we can do. While going to the hair salon and meeting up with your stylist are big no-nos right now (and within good reason), we can totally imagine the curly hair woes you may be facing right now.
So do them curls a favour and introduce the well-deserved and much craved Deep conditioning regime to your life, albeit in lockdown. God knows it is a quick, easy-to-do, at-home method and one-stop solution for dry, brittle curls that will ensure that your curly hair stays fresh and happy during this quarantine period. Allow us to arm you with these deep conditioning tips below so nothing will stand in your way to happy, healthy tresses.
Curly hair is dry hair and every inch of every strand on your beautiful head needs to quench that moisture. Wet your curly hair first, then add a huge dollop of your deep conditioner to it, making sure that no strand is left uncovered.
We’ve tried and tested many deep conditioning routines and have found out that the secret to a successful deep conditioning treatment is indirect heat. So the next time you deep condition your curls, wrap it in a towel and step into a steaming bathtub. Not only will you get a nice relaxing bath session, but the steam from the water will also allow the conditioner to seep into your curls and work its magic. If you don’t have a bathtub to jump into, simply cover your curly hair with a shower cap and blow dry it on the lowest settings. It may seem a little weird but trust us, this works!
When rinsing out your deep conditioner, we always recommend using cold water. The cold water helps close the cuticles of the hair and effectively works towards retaining the moisture in the strands.
While any deep conditioner can do the trick, we would be remiss if we did not recommend Mega Growth Anti-Breakage Strengthening Deep Conditioner. The reason we love it is just because it is a brilliant, hydrating hair mask that delves deep into each hair strand, ensuring that it is repaired from the inside out. While the combination of Olive Oil, Coconut Oil and Avocado Oil hydrates your curls and closes your cuticles, making sure your curly hair retain its moisture, the Shea Butter and Argan Oil in the product strengthen your curly hair and adds a layer of shine to your curls that will have them bouncing with joy.
Quarantine time doesn’t have to result in bad hair days and with the deep conditioning tips shared, your curls are bound to be the last thing on your ‘worry list’ during this period.
