Whether they are films, red-carpet outfits or experimental hairstyles, the creativity that comes with them is exceptional. So, while everyone is screening attires and designers, we are premiering the best of the black hairstyles that ruled the red carpet at Cannes 2018.

It only gets bolder with Lupita Nyongo and we’re all praise – for taking a strong stance on putting out her Afro-roots. The Black Panther actress flaunts her effortless afro puff that showed off her natural kinky texture. She chose to go with a sheer white dress with a high neckline and an embroidered organza leaf skirt by Christian Dior. Finishing her look with berry toned lips and defined eyes, she sure was exemplary of intensity meets subtlety.

Next up it the queen of locs, Ava Duvernay, who transformed her playful locs into a boho-chic hairdo for her Cannes 2018 appearance. Her dreadlocks were twisted and textured by loosening out the twists then and put up in a form of a half-updo. Pulling off Prada’s ‘s long sleeve pleated dress in mint green, this celebrated director wore her expression to the fullest.

Looks like Aja Naomi’s debut at Cannes was quite the romantic affaire. She chose to wear an affluent red Pamella Roland ensemble from her Pre-Fall 2018 collection. A plunging neckline to go with exaggerated ruffles all over her skirt. In contrast to her elaborate the dress, her hair was kept simple – Jet black relaxed and voluminous waves or a flawless weave job – It’s hard to tell! We’re crushing none the less like the typical Hollywood waves.

Even Jasmine Tookes went in for red to make an appearance at the Cannes Film Festival. Adorning an off-shoulder crimson gown by Zac Posen, the Victoria Secret model fancied a sleek ponytail with a side parting at the front. She looked every bit svelte and sophisticated. Who knew something as simple as a ponytail could be so stunning on the red carpet as well.
