Bee-lieve it or not, you can use honey on your bread as well as on your hair. Honey is a bee-utiful addition to your hair because it is an emollient that has enzymes, vitamins, minerals, antiseptic and antibiotic properties which helps combat bacteria. Therefore, these are the very sweet reasons why you should include honey in your hair routine:
It helps with scalp ailments like dandruff, eczema, psoriasis, itchiness, infection, and general scalp issues because it has a soothing effect which calms down distressed skin.
It also acts as a humectant by bonding with water thereby sealing in moisture which means that hair remains hydrated and frizz-free. This super ingredient can be used as a hair mask or can be mixed into your daily spritz to keep hair hydrated. By locking in moisture, honey ensures that the hair retains its natural lustre.
Honey conditions the hair, making it softer and easier to manage and style. Additionally, it helps reduce hair breakage because it contains a small percentage of the protein, keratin.
The easiest and best way to use honey is in the form of a mask. After you have washed, deep conditioned and rinsed your hair, add honey to your hair. Take 2 tablespoons of honey and add in some olive oil or Avocado oil. Pour this mixture on your hair Let it sit for about 15 minutes and rinse it off using plain water or shampoo. Continue to style your silky smooth hair.
All in all, honey is a wonderful addition to your hair routine. Any type of honey can be used, but consider using more natural honey with all the nutrients. Your hair will thank you!
