Have you ever been in a situation where your hair’s dripping wet and you had to rush out to a meeting with a wet mop? Yes, we’ve been there and can tell you that it can get quite embarrassing! What follows next is a huge ball of frizz. Even if you use a hair dryer to prevent your hair from clumping, it can still lead to frizzy, undefined curls.
Ladies, it doesn’t end there – Wet hair can cause mildew, resulting in smelly hair. And nobody wants that! So if you’re life, like ours, is always on the go, with no time to dry your hair out, you’ll definitely need a hair diffuser.
The air velocity in a diffuser is lesser in comparison to a hair dryer which can cause your curls to get frizzier than they already are. A diffuser on the other hand has smaller nozzles through which the air comes through instead of one single outlet of hot air. Read on to know how to use one.
1. Apply a heat protectant such as African Pride Black Castor Miracle Anti-Humidity Heat Protectant Spray all over your hair to form a protective shield that prevents from any possible heat styling damage.
2. Set the heat setting to medium or cool. Too much heat can cause serious hair damage.
Section your hair and then begin diffusing. It is advisable to hang your hair on one side and then diffuse the hair for added volume to your roots. Apply the heat for 10-15 seconds and move on to the next spot. Continue until your hair is 80-90% dry.
Using a good curl defining cream onto your mid-lengths to ends will help in clumping to bring out defined curls. African Pride Moisture Miracle Shea Butter & Flaxseed Oil Curling Cream is just the curl saviour you need. We’ve tried it and are absolutely in love!
3. Lastly, shake out your hair and fluff the roots with an afro pick.
You’re ready to go out and about, girl!
