Maureen Langa – model, beauty queen, travel freak. This girl is the boss we all aim to be. Like every other boss out there, this one ensures that her hair is always on point. As always, we could not help but dissect her signature look for you ladies to try out!
Girl, trust us – the last thing you need is to run around like a headless chicken mid-stitch. Make sure that you have all your products and items right in front of you before you start your braid. For this style, you’ll need a rat-tailed comb, hair extensions, rubber bands and the African Pride Black Castor Miracle Hold & Cover Edges.
Start by detangling your hair. We recommend using the Just for Me Natural Hair Milk Detangler. This specific blend of ingredients helps restore moisture, flexibility and shine to natural hair. Using your rat-tail comb, divide your hair horizontally along the back and clip the top half of hair away. Divide the bottom half of hair into different sections-the thinner the better! Coat these sections with the African Pride Black Castor Miracle Hold & Cover Edges. This cream is a total lifesaver and something that we swear by.
Divide your extensions into fine sections. Take one of these extensions and fold it in half. Double wrap the folded extension around one of the divided sections of hair. With the extension representing two parts of a braid and your actual hair representing the third- start braiding your hair like you usually would. Use a rubber band to secure your braid in place.
Repeat this process with every section of your hair. Once you complete the bottom layer of hair, unclip the top layer of hair and repeat steps 2 and 3.
Seem easy enough? That’s because it is! By following the steps mentioned above, you are sure to get Maureen Langa’s signature look in no time.
