Hair Maintenance

Invisible braids are a kind of hairstyle in which strands of natural hair are braided from the root, then extensions are weaved in by braiding so that they appear like single strands of hair. These braids are so thin that it is hard to tell whether they are braids or single strands of hair.
This method of styling uses tiny sections of natural hair which are braided with extensions but for only about an inch. The result is long and flowing hair. So within the matter of a few hours, you can have yourself a head full of Rapunzel like hair that would otherwise take years to grow.
The braid is barely visible at the root, giving the illusion of naturally long hair. These are quite the rage lately – almost like having a superpower in the hair world. Sssh, nobody will know about your little secret, sistah! Our lips are sealed Here’s a guide to getting on that dense and looooong mane and don’t miss out on the most important bit – maintaining it!.
We recommend washing your hair with a strengthening shampoo to fortify it then conditioning it with ProfectiV Mega Growth Deep Conditioner as an added moisture boost to make sure it’s in good shape to begin. Tried and tested, darlings! Tried and Tested.
Comb through your Darling Super Star Extensions to remove all tangles. Separate the hair into 1/4th inch sections and lay them flat. Apply some Moisturizing Gro Oil to your hair from root to tip. Make sure that the oil is evenly distributed on your hair by running a comb through it. Divide your hair into 4 sections, with 2 in the front and two sections at the back of your head. Work on one section at a time to get the perfect look! Gather 1/4th inch section of hair from your hairline using a rat-tail comb. Go on and divide this section into 3 equal parts and start braiding. Stop braiding after you have reached ½ inch of your hair. Take the centre loop of your hair extension and lay it flat against your scalp, right under the braid you created. Pull your braid through this loop and hold the entire extension tightly at their connecting point. Braid the extension into your natural hair using the three sections you created. To lock the braid in place, take three strands of extension hair and wrap them around the end of the braid to form a loop. Pull the strands through the loop and pull upward to tighten and secure the knot. To braid the entire head, follow the same process!
Make sure you moisturize your scalp regularly, as this hairstyle may cause breakage since it’s attached at the root. Apply oil at least once in 2 days to avoid flaking. Diluting your shampoo while washing your hair ensures a smooth wash process. Be sure to get your hair re-done every 6-4 weeks with a break in between to let your natural hair breathe. That’s an ideal scenario when it comes to invisible braids!
If you choose to go the traditional route of leaving them as is, go ahead, gurl! Go short, go wild! Some women also choose to braid their hair to mid-region of their head and leave the rest of their hair loose, but you could also get all your hair braided into thin strands and double braid them! We love ‘em all!
