Queen Bee recently bestowed upon us her ground-breaking documentary – ‘Homecoming’ and it’s suddenly all we ever talk about! And why not!?! It is a darn big deal after all being the first black woman to open one of the most popular music festivals in the world – Coachella. The documentary captures all the blood and sweat that went into Beyoncé’s iconic performance at Coachella 2018 – right from inception to the live performance even the surprise cameos by Destiny Children – Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, her sister Solange and hubby – Jay Z!
Quite the Homecoming indeed after giving birth to twins Sir and Rumi. We LOVED everything about the documentary – our eyes obviously glued to the creativity that went on with all the hairstyling. So rightfully now nicknamed BeyChella – her hairstyles in one word were nothing short of, L-E-G-E-N-D-A-R-Y.
If you’ve still not caught this glorious concert on Netflix, hop over to our article Beyoncé at Coachella 2018 where we’ve covered all the hairstyles that really made our jaws drop. Then keep a look out for when you do watch this over the weekend – Can you keep up!
Perfection does not come easy. It takes blood, sweat and lots of hard work. However, Queen Bee makes perfection look so effortless and easy just like her hairstyles. This 80’s inspired college girl look stayed on throughout the performance. The ombré look we’re all drooling over so much, can be duplicated by using Darling Crystal Weave. The crimped wavy texture feels soft and it is available in a variety of shades.
Between her On The Run Tour with Jay Z and Coachella 2018, she practically dominated 2018. Her majestic crown set atop a sleek bun was her way of reinstating that “she had arrived”. All hail Queen Bee! Just for Me Curl Peace Smoothing Ponytail & Edge Control is the perfect way to smoothen your edges when it comes to dramatic hairdos like this one.
When it came to the surprise act with Destiny’s Child’s Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, the audience went into a bit of a frenzy and understandably – it was such a glorious blast from the past.
Beyoncé chose to keep her hair up in a half-high ponytail. Michelle Williams on the other hand kept her hair straight with bangs and Kelly Rowland rocked a voluminous ‘fro. Pro Tip- If you’d like to get any of these hairstyles, make sure you flaunt them frizz free. Kiss the frizz goodbye by spraying a mixture of water and Leave-In Conditioner such as African Pride Moisture Miracle Coconut Milk & Honey Leave-In Conditioner.
Don’t be blinded with all that glitz as it was a lot of work. It took 8 months of rehearsals and Beyoncé personally chose every little detail that made the show come to life.
We love all the hairstyles; it’s hard to pick a favourite look. Tell us which one is your fav in the comments below.
