If you thought it stops with #blackgirlmagic think again. Annagjid “Kee” Taylor (@sosheargenius) is the hairstylist/influencer behind the fun #DMXChallenge on social media. She posted a video on Instagram which features the musician DMX’s song in the background. The song mentions the names of different women. With each name, Anna changes her hairstyle. Look up the #DMXChallenge hashtag on social media to see other videos on the same.

Black women are known to switch up their looks in an instant. Today she has fabulous long hair, tomorrow she’ll have a lux bob and by the end of the week, she has red curls. What just happened? Are these the same people? Do you have a new workmate? Who’s the new girl in class? No. This is the same girl, Joselyn! This happened to me a lot in London. My classmates used to walk right past me because I was wearing a different ‘do every other day. Told you. It’s the #blackgirlmagic ! A bit of sorcery really.
Another Instagrammer, Aleah, created a video on the challenge. Watch it here: http://bit.ly/2k92vnM
Hands up if you are guilty of this. Just like me! I am currently wearing long wavy hair today. Tomorrow I will definitely be wearing my 3c curls. It’s not a negative thing. This only goes to show that you can have fun and confuse people while you’re at it. If you’re in a relationship, and your partner says they want to see other people, do this. Change your hair and you will now be the ‘’other people’’. See how we just solved that problem? Make them do a double-take.
How often do you change hairstyles? We want to know!
