Celebrity Hairstyles
By Black Hair Hub | May 11, 2018
While our eyes are still glued to the glimmer, glitz and glamour that resounded from every next ornate piece of wearable art at this year’s MET gala, we obviously can’t discount the hairstyles that crowned each look. Call us biased, but we’ve chosen our favourites and have put them on a pedestal here at the Black Hair Hub. Read on up!

We won’t deny, this was the one we were looking out for not only because we just adore Tracee Ellis Ross but more so for keeping it real by rocking her bright and bold look with that Afro. Totally channelling Supreme’s Diana Ross, almost making for a crowning halo to go with her ensemble. Of course, we’re fans! The Black-ish actress flaunted a Fuscia shimmery belted gown with an oversized jacket by Michael Kors, a look inspired by the robes of Catholic priests worn for Laetare Sunday, a halfway mark to Easter in Lent. Just the spectacular colour pop and a natural fro to top it all, to stand out above all else bedazzling.

Just when we thought we’d be seeing more of JLO’s extra long, hip-length straight tresses that swung with her at her recent performances at the TIME 100 and Super Bowl concerts, the Latina steps up her hair game yet again! We weren’t even done drooling over the first one yet and surprise, surprise! Now we’re totally crushing over her sharp and slick bob that teamed perfectly well with her gem-encrusted Balmain masterpiece complete with a black ostrich feather train.

We’ll follow you to the ends of the world, Ms Monae, especially with that elaborate headdress that’s classic church lady hat that cast a halo around her head. Going back to her statement monochromatic look in this Marc Jacobs suit with cape detailing and shoulder-padded jacket, Janelle Monae is definitely hinting at another story about her self through this one. According to us, the outfit probably represents the duality of Ying and Yang, good and evil…maybe? We’d give it some in-depth thought, but only after we’re really done lusting over her hand-beaded, crystal head-wrap. Accessory goals?
All hail, Zendaya for striking just the right balance between a saint and a warrior in her metallic armour inspired by Joan of Arc, one of Catholicism’s most famed warrior saints. Her custom metallic Versace gown features an armoured neck-and-shoulder piece, sparkling chainmail, a spiked belt and a modest train. And while we’re still envying her the outfit, it’s the hair that sold the look for us. Her cropped radical fringed bob in burnt crimson drew close comparisons to the French hero.
With everything being heavenly at the Met Gala 2018, it also attracted some controversies. Have a glance at these Black celebrities Who Sinfully Serenaded At the Met Gala 2018.
