Hair accessories are all the rage right now. Everything from minimalist metallic rings to complex beaded cuffs and gold strings. These work to really enliven a hairstyle. However, you have never known creativity until you have had to use whatever you have to improvise!
This article will show you even more accessories that you can make yourself using items in your collection.
Ankara is not just for clothes, bags and shoes. It is also for your hair! If you have some left-over ankara fabric in your closet, take it out and use it to embellish your hair. You can cut it into strips and wrap them around some bantu knots or you can incorporate them in some sort of braid.
I imagine your conversation with your newly decked out hair would go a little something like this :
‘’Ankara ankara on the wall, who is the fairest of them all?’’
‘’You are, of course.’’
You don’t need to buy accessories specifically for the hair. You can bling out your braids using a necklace you love. Go to your jewelry stash right this minute, take it and wear it over your hair. You’ve done two things at the same time: saved money and looked like a million bucks.
Are you a ring lover with a ton of rings in your collection? This is your chance to DIY and shine. You can easily convert your rings or hoop earrings into hair accessories by wearing them on braids. Stack them up or wear a few of them, either way, you didn’t need to go out and actually buy anything!
Bracelets also work like a charm…Pun very much intended. Do you have a few pieces to spare or pieces you rarely wear? Bracelets can easily be used as hair ties to create a statement and for the functionality of course.
There we have it. 4 unexpected accessories for freshly decked out hair that you probably never thought of. Well, go on now. You have some improvising to do.
