Eat your way to a gorgeous mane!

Ever heard the phrase, ‘it’s what is on the inside that counts?’ Well, that is because it usually rings true. Even the best of products can fail you if your system is not in order and that is applicable when it comes to your hair too! Without the proper nutrients, your hair becomes limp. But combine stellar products with a healthy diet, and you will forget bad hair days all together! So, here are 5 foods we should all eat for healthy hair.

1. Citrus Fruits

Lime, Orange, Strawberries, and other citrus fruits and vegetables should be a daily staple. Vitamin C is required for iron absorption that can, in turn, affect your hair. Vitamin C also boosts collagen production that can make your hair shafts stronger and regularly deliver nutrients.

2. Tofu / Eggs

Eggs and Tofu provide your hair with much-needed protein. Protein is the building block of skin and hair. This will give you added hair growth, softness, and reduce breakage. Check out this list of foods to prevent hairfall.

3. Nuts & Seeds

Pumpkin seeds, Almonds, Walnuts, Sunflower seeds, and Figs, your body needs it all, and so does your hair. These foods are the best sources of omega-3 fatty acids that are essential for thick, lustrous hair. It coats your hair with a protective layer. Maybe try adding crushed flax seeds to your meals from tomorrow?

4. Spinach & Greens

Spinach, Broccoli, and leafy salad greens are your best sources of iron. Lack of iron means major hair loss. Without iron, your follicles don’t get enough nutrients transported to them, which can hamper growth.

5. Bell Peppers & Carrots

Basically, we mean any vegetables that come in bright colors, like orange and yellow. Their colour is due to their high Vitamin A content. Vitamin A produces the right amount of sebum. The sebum then conditions your hair, to keep it supple and moisturized.
